Seven-day camp inaugurated by K.C. College of Education at Govt. School Pounichak

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of KC College Of Education today inaugurated its 7-day camp on Communal
Harmony Week at Govt. School, Pounichak, focusing on promoting unity, social cohesion, and holistic well-being. The
camp commenced with a two-day yoga camp, led by renowned yoga instructor from Deptt. of Ayush Ms. Vandana
Sharma and Ms. Riya Jamwal, emphasizing physical and mental harmony. This was followed by an insightful lecture
on women's hygiene and menstrual health by, Dr. Himani Bhutyal, Medical officer and Master Yoga Trainer from
Deptt. of Ayush, Jammu. Dr sanjay Tickoo, principal of the college inaugurated the camp and stressed the importance
of communal harmony and youth engagement in nation-building. NSS Program Officer, Ms. Priya Gupta welcomed
the gathering and outlined the camp's objectives, which include:
- Promoting communal harmony and social cohesion
- Fostering a culture of tolerance and understanding
- Empowering youth to become agents of change
- Encouraging holistic well-being through yoga and wellness practices
Over the next five days, the camp will feature workshops, group discussions, symposium, visits and activities focused
on:
- Interfaith dialogue and understanding
- Gender equality and women's empowerment
- Environmental conservation
- Community service and volunteerism
The camp aims to bring together 36 participants from diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and shared
purpose.
