K.C. College of Education observed World Forests Day and World Water Day

Environmental Club of K.C. College of Education organized an awareness rally today to mark ‘World
Forests Day’ and ‘World Water Day’, the days celebrated every year worldwide to highlight the importance
of trees and fresh water. A good number of members of Environmental Club participated in the rally. On
their way, they met and interacted with the villagers & slum dwellers and discussed the importance &
significance of natural resources like forests and water and also the implications of deforestation and water
scarcity.
Convenor of the club, Dr. Puja Sharma suggested the inhabitants of the area, the ways to save water
& motivated them to plant trees and the sustainable management of these natural resources. The activity was
done in a constructive manner by making use of placards, slogans, songs & skits.
Principal of the college, Dr. Sanjay Tickoo flagged off the rally and applauded the efforts of the club
members.
